Looks like I went on a mad JC Penney shopping spree or something huh?
I actually picked all of this (10 dollar JCP gift card, tote bag, chapstick, Ryan Sheckler tech deck and t-shirt, random bro shirt, sampler cd, hand sanitizer, two women's Arizona charm bracelets, post-its, notebooks, and key chains) from a Hockey concert...as you can probably tell by the picture of the poster I stole from the Troubador.
A few weeks ago JC Penney announced a new concert series: JCP Front Row featuring Hockey. Hockey is an awesome dance rock band that I got into after missing their performance at UCSD so I was really excited to get another chance to see them for free at the Troubador in West Hollywood. (You may recognize their music from that JC Penney commercial where the kids are all up on the lunch tables having a little Southpole fashion show.) The JC Penney website also mentioned free food and door prizes including the hottest JCP fashions. OMG I KNOW RITE? I was totally there. And so were a bunch of other people, who had absolutely no idea who Hockey was that just wanted to get some free stuffs. Those people were pretty easy to pick out from the crowd. For about every 3 young hipsters with their headbands, wristbands, and shirts-with-bands on them there was one middle aged dude or a random family with young kids. I kid you not, behind me at the show was a fat bald 50 year old man with his two 5 year old daughters looking through his and their tote bags of goodies the whole time waiting for the concert to end so he could win some jeans or whatever in the raffle. But this had to be the funniest conversation I overheard outside of the venue that night:

I'm not complaining though, I wish ALL concerts were free and gave me this much swag. Hockey is awesome. You guys should check them out here. Now behold my amazing concert pics:

Mom: Well not really we are mostly here for the prizes. The kids actually thought they were going to see people playing ice hockey so they're a little upset.
Kid: I WANNED PLAY HOCKEY!
