The Ups:
-Saw some fool doing tricks on his skateboard in the Park Bowl during the BMX warm-ups. That fool turned out to be THE Tony Hawk.
-At X Fest there was a card-throwing game in which you had to land the card into a far-away hat to win a prize. I sucked so bad at the game but on my last toss I somehow managed to land my card into the deck it came from. I was given a prize for that.
-Bucky Lasek did not win the vert competition.
-Got really good seats for the skateboard vert competition (cant say the same for BMX vert.) They should just make the half-pipe out of Plexiglas or something transparent so the people seated behind the ramp can still see.
-Had an overall great time.
The Downs:
-The recession had taken its toll on the amount of free stuff that is given out. One year I came home with a life time supply of Right Guard Deodorant, a Taco Bell Taco Hat and Bell, tons of Posters, skate DVDs, loads of music CDs, headphones and DVD rewrites from Maxell, a stomach fill of Mountain Dew and NOS, and a bunch of other things like pens, cards, and candy. This year I came home with a tote bag, some Warheads, and some Lemonheads. Oh, and a beaded chain that says "NGK Spark Plugs" that turned my neck blue.
-My diet for the day included, 2 cans of Rockstar, 1 bottle of Muscle Milk, 1 bottle of Cytomax Energy Drink, and 2 Taco Bell Lava Tacos. But then again it was all free!
-During the BMX vert finals I got a text telling me I had won a skate deck from a Twitter contest and had to go pick it up at the Fingerboard booth. I left during the finals to run over to a far off booth to receive my brand new skateboard ... I should have expected it to be Tech Deck seeing that it was at the Fingerboard booth.
-I always think I'm too cool for sunscreen. And like the cool guy I think I am I wore my sunglasses all day. I now look like Rudolph.
-Diogo Canina getting silver, after getting gold.

Hey SMEARCAMPAIGN - What a jerky way to show his fans what a BIG BABY he is cuz he didn't win....BOOOOOOHOOOOOO....I feel the same way about Prince (aka ROGER whatever) when he pulled his videos off of YouTube because he wanted us to pay for each and every listen (luckily they were still on the web somewhere else) and Viacom (VIASCAM) for pulling SouthPark stuff ..and it's GONE!!! What a bunch of self-absorbed people and coporations. Good job LL
